i havnt been here for quite some time on account of exams so i dont know if this is old but a guy send me this email. hope it helps:

just to update all you guys with touchpad problems on dell xps m1530 and m1330 notebooks i just got the fix for it. you must upgrade your bios from A05 TO A08 from Dell drivers and downloads. They have this listed as a critical bios update . It fixes 3 issues with the laptops. one of the was the touchpad. Its a very simple bios flash that take 2 minutes to do and all is fixed. PLEASE POST THIS FOR OTHERS TO SEE. IT SEEMS LIKE NO ONE HAD THE FIX FOR THIS ISSUE UNTIL I JUST GOT IT.

Does this fix the touchpad problem I'm having? I lose the touchpad scrolling feature after viewing fullscreen video. If there is some web video that I click to full screen, then after going back to normal screen the scrolling no longer works until a reboot. I'm on Bios A07.

That doesn't sound like the problems fixed by the new BIOS, but it wouldn't hurt to update anyway.
