    touchpad response

    Does this happen to you, from time to time, the touchpad on my XPS 1530 will respond after 5 seconds and even then it will be slow in responding. I don't know if it's to do with the heat or not.. Also it happens when I open up the lid again (the laptop is on)..

    Yeah, I've had 2 XPS M1530s to date and it's happened on both. I eventually ended up just using a wireless mouse and ignoring the touchpad. It would persist for 1+ minutes.

    Have you tried updating your BIOS? You can also try changing the touchpad sensitivity settings.
