Does anyone know if windows will be able to get trackpad gestures like the Macbook air? I'd even go as far as replacing my mouse if there was.

The only thing stopping them is multi-touch support, but since Apple have likely bought up every patent in this field, for the forseeable future atleast you are unlikely to see the transition of the technology into your favoured PC hardware.

My dell 1505 has a couple gestures, like swiping two fingers to make your web page go back and forward. That notebook has a symantics touchpad.

On my new 1530 with the alps touchpad, none of those handy gestures work.

Not quite the same, but if you click both trackpad buttons at the same time, you can scroll quickly through a long document using the trackpad.
