My question is can I interchange the two ac adapters. my initial assumption is no, but sometimes i'm by my wifes power cord and im too lazy to plug mine in, can we swap them between computers? My converter is bigger and hers is smaller.

Often manufacturers will provide a PSU with a lower power / current rating if the notebook has an integrated GPU and a higher rated PSU for a dedicated PSU (which needs more power). But the voltage should be the same.

Using a PSU with a higher current rating will not cause problems but a lower rated PSU may not be able to deliver enough power.
