Due to unforeseen circumstance, we have experienced another delay with your order number XXXXXXXXX. Our new anticipated ship date will be on or before 8/22/2007. Due to this additional delay, the Federal Trade Commission requires we receive your consent to continue with this order else we will be forced to cancel the order automatically.

The fact that your new delay is so soon (even before the 8/28 almost everyone else was getting) is a great sign. It means you will receive your laptop before then, Im sure.

if you want them to continue with your order, i'd call them ASAP. i think one guy wasn't available when he got that message from dell over the weekend or something like that and then they ended up automatically canceling his order.

I got the message from the on-line order status screen.

There were three links under the message.
    1) Accept the delay
    2) Accept all delays
    3) Cancel the order

I chose #1 but I'm shopping around now.

Note that I got a one week delay once before. I thought that was a good sign - that the laptop was close. However after the second one week delay I'm not so sure.

Also, you don't get the FTC notice until the second delay.
