so if you're looking to pay about $1500 for a Dell laptop then you might want to wait until Wednesday to order as there's a really good coupon coming for a notebook at that price. Remember the code that was issued last October that was really hot? Well, it's as good as that...I can't reveal the offer or code but I think some will know what I'm alluding to here [ :D]

    Awww, stop teasing us!

This reminds me I was thinking a Dell coupon code history page could be really cool. I'm currious if their codes line up with fiscal years at all, or just component price drops that they only discount coupon users at first with.

What a tease! Come on. I wasn't on this forum last October. How about a little hint? I'm planning on ordering mine this week. My wife said we didn't have the money for me to buy a 9300. I told her fine,I'm going to sell some of my mechanic tools on ebay to pay for it. Well final I have enough. I'm waiting for the 35% deal to come back out. I didn't have enough when it came out two weeks ago. I just can't wait till she ask me to work on her car. I'm going to go out to the garage and sit with my laptop looking at her car. Can't work on it without tools! I'll have a cool laptop to play with though.

    Hows this sound?
    ** Dell Inspiron 9300 ... PM 1.6 ghz ... 533mhz FSB ... 256 Nvidia Geforce 6800 Go ... 60 Gig 7200 rpm Hardrive ... 17 inch WUXGA screen with Truelife ... 8 x Dual DVD Burner ... Wifi Bluetooth and a cool Red clip on cover**

    Thanks Passnbyu

Well, I guess it has been mentioned before that Dell Small Business does not issue coupons; but I'm still curious:
This deal sounds special (probably an end-of-quarter deal too); so do you think Dell SB will issue some coupons for Latitudes like Dell home does for Inspirons?

Apologies if this question is redundant in any way.

Oh yes, I remember. This is probably that coupon that was $750 off $1500 or literally 50% off a laptop at that price. Not terribly cool for people wanting something a lot more than $1500, but definitely a steal for those who do. I predict that this kind of deal will expire in the same day that it's offered, so get it while it lasts.

I wish I would have read this about 2 days ago. I just ordered a insipiron 6000d for $1000 even. Maybe I could of saved a few hundred. It was regularly $1527 but it was on the weekly specials for the 1g. I thought is was a decent deal.

ben's has it listed as expiring after 10K uses. since everybody's been foaming at the mouth for this deal since last october, i doubt it'll last more than a few hours. if you wanna get in on it, better set your clocks for 6am PST.

too bad the X1 isn't eligible.

Dell must be wanting to sell some of their less inexpensive laptops. I can't even come close to $1499 with what I want. I figure if I'm going to spend this much time just buying one, It better be a good one. Guess I'll have to wait another week or so till the 35% coupons come out again. Sooner or later they should. I Hope!

OK since most of the forum reader has no CLUE what that was all about... I think the exchange best be kept either private(seems like it was in the first place), or if it pertains to the general public, fill us in on it?

One suggestion thou -- there's no need to quote EVERYTHING -- like including replies of replies of replies -- it just makes reading it that much more cumbersome to have to scroll down 2 pages of quote to find a paragraph of actual reply. :)

Personally, I think what the forum need, is like a list of popular notebooks and what they are good for, and make that a sticky -- because 90% of the msg in the general hardware forum is essentially redundant -- so and so asks "what's a good laptop?" and the same answer comes up again and again.

    cheers,

    yass
