is that possible? i mean to obtain the graphics on your own and then replacing it?

i was thinking of like what the m1530 has - GF 256MB 8600M GT

Any GPUs have to be from Dell, which means Dell had to have offered the card on a notebook. So not gonna happen.

not a chance in hell dell sometimes has different cards and besides its not even mxm so in other words the card is soldered into the socket no way to remove except changing motherboard which are not available from dell

ok thx guys... what a waste.

the graphics is only thing that feels a little obsolete on the m1330.

I believe it has been stated that the GPU on the Vostro 1500 is removable... and can be upgraded.. this applies to the 8600GT.. not sure about the 8400.. if thats the case your only option is a Mobo swap to obtain the 8600GT..

YOu can upgrade a vostro from a 8400 to a 8600 but not from a integrated chip to the nvidia chip. The 1330 can not be upgraded at all. Same with the 1400/1420.
