I've been given conflicting advice. I do video/graphics/audio editing, web development, and use multiple applications (10+ windows open at once). I'm going to upgrade my RAM, but am also willing to spend extra on either

    1) the CPU (upgrade to 2ghz)
    or
    2) or upgrade to 60gb 7200RPM hard drive

Please help and vote as I want to take advantage of the 40% coupon!

    Thanks, Jason

go for the 60gig...2ghz isn't worth the money in my opinion. if you could go to the 1.73 or 1.86 you should be fine.

Just in case you didn't know, upgrade your RAM outside of Dell, buy the cheapest RAM config they offer and you can get 2GB for $200 at Newegg.

humm, you have the answer, but I'll chime in. The cost to upgrade the CPU is really not worth the performance gain. You pay a huge premium for the latest chip, the sweet spot right now seems to be the 1.73.
