My 6 year old pressed a combination of keys on my dell inspiron 1300 laptop, and now my display is flipped upside down. In other words, as I am typing this, everything is upside down. does anyone know how I can turn it back to normal?

I think that Ctrl+(Alt and/or Shift)+(Up or Down) should fix it. There are a couple of key combos to check, but I'm sure that one of the above will fix it for you.

Should be ctrl-alt-upkey or downkey, as stated above. You can also make the changes in the control panel for your video card.

If the key replys dont work you can go into the advanced settings of your video card and set it there. On my x1400 I can do the same thing in the ATI Catalyst Control Center. Once your in there you can turn the Hot Keys off that will flip your screen like that and you can also flip your screen the right way round.
Steps to get there if you have an ATI video card and ATI Catalyst Control Center installed.
1 - Right click on your desktop.
2 - Select "properties".
3 - Select "settings".
4 - Select "advanced".
5 - Select "ATI Catalyst Control Center".
6 - Select "Displays Manager"
7 - Once the "Displays Manager" tab opens you should see at the bottom tab you should see a box marked "rotation". Set your rotation to 0 degrees landscape.
While you are also in the ATI Catalyst Control Center you can also click on the "Hot Keys" tab and turn the ATI hot keys off that flipped your screen in the first place.
If this does not work for you or you have a different video card please let us know. -

For the Inspiron 1300 it should be the Intel control center.
