Have the affected parts replaced if you have the complete care warranty.

And if you don't have complete care warranty, hopefully you're good at electronic disassembly and maintenance! :D

Use chocolate ice cream to drown out the vanilla smell.

There isn't much you can do besides trying to use a cleaning agent; obviously nothing corrosive. If you choose to do so, remember to remove all possible power sources for the computer. How much ice cream are we talking about?

if it were my laptop, i would disassemble the whole darn laptop. clean each piece individually, and put it back together. laptops aren't that hard to take apart, i don't understand why people are so scared to do any sort of work on them. just take your time, mark where you got the screws from, and you will be ok ;)

remove the battery and power cable.

    throw it in the bathtub.

put it in the microwave to dry. probably no longer than 2 minutes.

should be fine after that...definitely won't smell like milk.
