When we purchased it at WorstBuy, I didn't realize that it came with no phone support. I'll be ****ed if I'm giving it to them for $199 to fix something I am capable of doing.

I may have royally screwed up this time... My daughter's 1525 refused to come up yesterday--"checksum doesn't match computed sum". Everything I could find the web indicated a Vista reinstall was needed. Have to admit the 3 partitions on the HDD threw me for a loop (never seen/used a "restore" partition, or whatever iti was called...), but I got it done, started to reinstall the drivers, couldn't figure out exactly which ones were needed. Did some more googling, and ran across info that I should've booted w/the mediadirect CD first, then Vista, then media direct again. Sounded illogical to me, but other searches found the same info. So this morning, I started over. I've booted with the MD CD, selected "1", saw the warnings that it wuold delete all info on the HDD, but continued to followe directions, swapped to the Vista CD, rebooted, and no $@!!#? keyboard. So maybe I deleted the driver for the keyboard?

Anybody have any ideas on where to go from here?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
