vostro (build time)

Hey guys.

Just wanted to see how long everyone has been in the build stage.

I just wanted to see how long ago dell started building the orders they took.

I ordered mine monday and was put into build on wednesday.

3 business days so far for me.





* i asked someone who ordered the 10th and they have been in build for the same time as me, so i wonder if that means if they are starting to build, and should be out next week.

 

i ordered on the 14th...been in build stage since tuesday...so 4 business days

 

Ordered mine this morning, still in production.............. Estimated shipping date is August 15th... That's a long time to wait.

 

I ordered on Friday the 13th. It seemed to be in production since I ordered it, however the last call I received (Thursday, 19th) said the monitor was on backorder. So the status of build stage doesn't mean jack. (7 business days of bull!)

Edit: monitor is 14" matte with integrated camera

 

i did hear somewhere that the webcam was on backorder.

i didn't order that lo.

 

I ordered my Vostro 1500 on July 11th and went into the build stage last Friday the 20th. So that's a little over a week not to bad.

 

My Vostro 1400 has been in the build stage since 7/17. I ordered it on 7/11.

 

i re-ordered i think the 12th or 13th and i think i have been in production since the 17th or 18th. my rep when i ordered said their is a 10day build time and he didnt see any parts being on backorder or delayed.

 

I don't have a problem with a 1 or two week delay. The Vostro is a new product even though it's a black Inspiron. Still i'm willing to cut Dell some slack.

 

i got no problem, i just really hope i get mine before august 2nd, as i am going on a trip and would love to have it along with me!! lol

 

Supposedly mine is still scheduled for an Aug 2nd ship date.

 

I ordered mine past Wednesday (18/07) and it's still in the build stage.

 

Original order was the 11th, re order on the 12th. Build stage since the 16th or 17th.

 

I did the same as you, ordered on the 11th, reordered on the 12th, it went into build stage on thursday the 19th. I am really hoping I get it next week.

 

Ordered on the 10th, went into build on the 18th (via automated phone line) and est. delivery is still Aug. 2nd.

 

i ordered my 1500 on the july 19th and it said the shipping date was aug 6th now its saying the shipping date is the 9th...regardless it seems like an awfully long time

 

Ordered on July 18, build date 7/19, est. ship date is August 6

 

ordered 7/13, production 7/16 ship date 8/2

 

How do I find out what day my laptop went into build stage? Unless you guys are just calling everyday to check up on it...

Dell is weird, my current Inspiron 1501 took 6 days from ordering to delivered to my house(on 3-5 day shipping!)

its been 13 days since i ordered the Vostro 1400, damn thing is still in production, but according to a Dell CSR nothing in on backorder for my computer at least. estimated delivery 7/31

 

ordered Vostro 1500 on July 21. Went into production the very next day. Estimated shipping is August 15th

 

Ordered July 13 (after two cancellations trying to get Vista Premium), went into product hours later, and now it is in build (no idea when it went to build) with an estimated ship date of Aug 2.

I ordered the Vostro 1400 $599 Smart Value (1GB) system + Bluetooth + Webcam.
