    vostro 1500 battery

    is it the same as any previous models. i ordered with just the 6 cell and think now i want to maybe add another or larger. ill try to see if i can still switch it with dell first but if its shipped already i could check ebay etc but i dont think anything for vostra will be listed.. could i use another units battery in it?? thanks

    Well seeing as the Vostro 1500 is simular to the Inspiron 1520, the 1520 lasts 3 hours with 6 cell and thats with a 20% charge left.

    yes but is that with the 6800 gt card in it?? ive read these really put a toll on the battery life..

    No the Vostro 1500 and the 1520 are identical - they have the same graphics card.

    You mean 8600 gt?

    I am also wondering how upgrading from 8400 to 8600 gt would impact battery life...

    Yh i made a thread on it and the ppl who answered said the 8600 would use up more power than the 8400. But by how much i have no idea.
