When i use headphones i only get sound out of one side? Does anyone know why? I also have the whine but im more worried about the one sided sound

However both speakers work so im sure its just the headphone port

ive also tried updating the drivers and it all balanced so do i need to call dell?

Try different head phones, or external speakers to see if it works.

Likely the headphones you're using are screwed, or the jack is frigged up. Which is a really easy fix but a shame.

As for the whine, there are no fixes Dell can supply. Unless you're into empty promises and false hope.

But the guide in my signature can solve the whine issue completely. :D

call the dell small business line ether early in the morning or very late at night to reduce hold times.

Also, how old is the notebook? If it's new and they can't fix the problem, you could probably ask them to replace or r.epair it for you.

For a broken jack you'll need to call Dell. Strange though it broke. Likely that pin that connects with the 3.5mm rod on the head phones is bent or failing to make a connection.
