    what the hell does it do? on the left side next to the lid... I cant figure it out... =/

    It is the wifi finder, slide it forward and it will display wireless signals, and while the laptop is off slide it and it will tell you if there are any signals nearby with the light lighting up. If you slide it back, it disables all the wireless on your laptop (to conserve battery).
