Mines says "For reinstalling dell mediadirect on dell inspiron 1520 computers"

Those who have used the cd, i would also like to know if it worked fine or not. Thanks.

They should be different. Do you see any part numbers in the disk label? it should be a 5-digit part number.

That cd is definitely for the Ins 1520. You must call dell or go to their site to order the correct cds.

CD? The only CD that came with my 1500 is the reinstallation CD for XP. MediaDirect was pre-installed.

Dell is currently running low on supplies, so I think they hand out what they have. If you recieved a Dell Vostro 1500, that is what it should say on the CD. I would go to their customer support website and ask them, just so you don't screw up your computer using the wrong drivers and stuff.

I recieved a CD saying Dell Vostro 1500.

    I got a inspiron 1520 cd too :(

I formatted Vista and when trying to reinstall media direct it said "Wrong model" and it didn't install....

Anyone that has the Vostro 1500 Media Direct cd (noah.livingston =D) could please upload a disk image of it to rapidshare or the like? Could be REALLY appreciated.

(or they could send to me via ICQ or something and i'd upload it for everyone :p)

    Thanks!

Please read the other thread, you can extract the 1520 cd to an iso then edit all the system info to "vostro 1500" reburn the cd and it will work fine! I did it and it works brilliantly now :D

unpack the iso and change the system ID to Vostro 1500. Then burn it back on CD.
Read the details in this thread.
