Hey guy's I have been looking for a new laptop for a while now and I started to read about the dell vostro line I have a few questions about the specs before I buy want to make sure it is set up well enough to run just about anything I want. To start off I really do not put much strain on my computers all the time I mainly surf the web listen to music and type up essay's boring but that is around 60% of my use. The more demanding use will be thing's like ripping dvd's, some auto cad, and light games ect. I usually have Itunes, firefox with 5 tab's open, limewire, messenger, adobe, and some sort of document open at the same time.

The computer specs are listed as,

    vostro 1500
    15.4" truelife
    c2d 1.6ghz
    128mb nvidia 8400m
    80 gig hardrive
    windoze xp
1 gb ram (will upgrade after the fact)
    dvd burner
    web cam
    3 year warranty
total price of 960$ canadian I am financing but I will have it paid off within two months, I need it now since my desktop is toast lol does that seem like a good deal to you guy's took me 3 days to get the price down that low and a computer that is what I want. They started off at 1280$ with a whole bunch of extras I don't need then down to 1160$ still with a bunch of crap I don't need they said last offer at 1060$ I said no and hung up my phone they called back half hour later with the above offer kind of makes me wonder why they could not have listend in the first place and sad that so many people get screwed around like that. What are you're guy's opinions on the above computer will it run all the stuff I want? and run it fast? I would like the computer to last me two years minimum and still seem to be pretty quick at that time then again we will probaly have quad core notebook's by then buying it tonite said the above offer is only good untill 6 o'clock or so Thanks for all the help guy's.

I will tell you those spec's are by far the best I have ever had in a computer my desktop was a amd sempron 1.8 512 80 gig my old laptop was a acer 1.6 ghz turion 512 80 gig both had integrated graphics and they both ran most anything I wanted just took there time with a few things :D

Yea that will run all that fine. I dont think you would need 2 gigs of ram either, since your getting xp.
