    vostro 1500 to HD Monitor?

    Can someone please explain in plain easy terms how I can hook my laptop to my HDTV monitor? I am using s-video cable and Vista. Please email : [email protected]

    As for hooking it up to your tv, does your tv have a vga or dvi port on the back of it?

    Using S-video cable input on the front side of the TV TV is a Samsung 5674.I'm new to this site,sorry if I did something wrong.

    I'm not concerened with the hookup, as S-Video is O.K. I am concerned with the setting's on my laptop that I have to go through,

    Your going to have to go into your video settings (right click on the desktop in XP or Vista to get to the setting panel)... also you are going to have to set the make sure the resolution on the external is only 480px vertical as thats all svideo will support.

    If your HD tv has a dvi connector or a VGA connecter there are better connections to be had though.
