I just got my new vostro 1500. Most things work but the wireless connection icon in the lower right hand of windows shows it's not connected but it actually is connected to my network. I can browse any website and download files, but it just shows not connected. And whenever I tried to play a DVD, the player will freezes at the menu. Anyone has any idea why?

Well oddly enough, my wireless now refuses to even show. Yet im connected to a fully functioning 8megabit line, so ive no idea.

Basically its ****ing vista. Its crap. Get to XP if you can.

at a guess id say vista is reporting another connection as being disconnected, your ethernet or something. though when mine is connected via wireless it doesn't complain about not being connected when it really is.

i agree about whats being said about vista though at first i liked it and decided to keep it, now i just find it frustratingingly slow :( if it ran as quick as xp does then i would be happy but the fact is it doesn't and i kinda feel like im using second best.
