Hi all!
its nearly been a month since using my vostro 1500, one thing i have noticed thats different to before is that the top left vent of the notebook (on the side next to headphone jack), the fan inside is always at high speed. it used to be so quite. It is at high speed when im only surfing with firefox and using msn.![]()

Check your CPU temps with speedfan. You can also control how fast and often your fan runs with that program

how warm is your house where the laptop is?
-
room temperature is normal room temperature, dont know exactly.
i tried fanspeed, it doesnt seem to pick up the fans for some reason

to control you can try http://www.diefer.de/i8kfan/index.html
but more important now will be to check temperatures, you can try also using noteebok hardware control dell fix for this : http://www.p35-forum.de/files/nhc_2.0_pre_release_06_dell.zip
(tough it doesnt control fans, at least not that i am aware of)
(both are free to use) -
wow.. your temps are awesome! Most people will have their CPU temps in the 40-50s range. I guess your fans really doing their job!
