it finally came!
first impressions...
>it feels as solid as a rock
>the case is cold to the touch (especially the bottom...so it must be made of some kind of metal alloy. its a good feeling)
>the screen is beautiful...no grainyness as far as i can tell (how can you tell?)
>no headphone noise when laptop idle
>it looks gorgeous! i thought the all-black look might be a bit boring and simple, but it looks very smart! with the subtle silver accents on the buttons and the groovy blue lights.
>the stickers are very poorly aligned (any ideas on trying to move them without getting that goo crap would be helpful)
>the trackpad is a tad on the small side but i guess i can get used to it
>the laptop looks so big, i didn't even notice the battery stuck out...seriously
>first time user of vista....verdict...it looks nice...haven't had a real chance to put it through its paces (we'll see how it handles my progs later)
>76 running processesbloody hell! gotta do something about that...any ideas?
thats it for now.
i will post pics when i'm able to
but nite nite for now!

Hey, great1, nice review of your new Vostro 1700. How is the display, any sign of grainyness? Is the display as bright and sharp as what is in the big box stores?
