    im being lazy and cant be bothered to spend the next hour reading through the various manuals, does the vostro 1700 take turbo memory? and if so, is it worth getting? i've not read up much on turbo memory.

    yes it does take turbo mem, and can be fitted quite easily.

    For £16 uk, i will be buying a 1gb board and fitting it. Supposed to improve batterey life slightly and also knock down disk access slightly.

    Nothing to write home about really though. If your going for 2gb of ram or more its not really important, but if your using 1gb or less then yep it can help out a fair bit.
