Does anyone has problem with the built-in webcam on the vostro 1700 running Vista Business? I have been having problem with the webcam crashing when I close the Live!Cam Avatar software from Creative Lab(bundled software from Dell) or when the computer goes into hibernation and I try to use the webcam.

On the first senario, when I open the Live!Cam Avatar, the webcam will start up fine. I can click the preview button and webcam works. It will crash when I close the problem.

On the second senario, when the laptop comes out from hibernation and it does not matter how I startup the webcam, i.e. starting using Windows Live messenger, Dell webcam center or Live!Cam Avatar it will say no webcam detected.

In both case I will get the follow error message.

The CT4IM.exe is part of the application from Creative Lab.

I am up to date on patches which also include an updated driver from Creative Lab.

On the second issue, can you make Yawcam detect it? If you don't have Yawcam to test, you can just download it really quick.

I have a Dell M1730, which also came with that Live! Cam Avatar software and it also crashes when I close that program. No idea why or any solution.
