    hey there groovy gang!

i recently ordered the vostro 1700 (31/07/07) with the following specs and was wondering whether you guys think this is a good deal.

    CPU: T7300
SCREEN: WUXGA 1900*1200 truelife with 2mp camera
    MEM: 2 GB 667 Mhz
    HDD: 160GB 5400RPM
    9 CELL BATTERY
    VISTA HOME PREMIUM
    256MB 8600M GT

    £777.04 (INCL VAT)

He said this was with free delivery

    what do you guys think?
is there anyway i can convince him to lower the price? (without canceling and starting again)

any comments would be very much appreciated!

Seems good to me, i got something similar for £797, it will be around £809 with bluetooth added which i will request.

This was after my original order of £822 with inferior components and a second one with basically what you have listed for £869. Both cancelled.

My first build sucked because it had 1GB of ram and 1440x900 screen, no wireless n, and vista home basic. Cost me £822, so i cancelled. Thats what i mean by inferior components because the second build had a better screen, more ram, and vista business and it only costed a tad more.

My second build was like yours, same components, took advantage of the £70 off deal last weekend, it came to £869.

Out of curiosity today i built another one and found it came out much cheaper due to the free shipping and save £50 deal. So i rebuilt the exact same specs as before, biggest screen, 2GB ram, vista business etc and added a wireless n as well and cancelled my second order because this third order was cheaper AND had wireless n. It costs £797 at the moment, im gonna have bluetooth added as well. Its in my sig

With my first order i phoned in about a remote and got a call back early the next morning, never answered too sleepy, but the guy left a message saying i had a remote coming with my first order, didnt say which one or anything. Dosent matter cause i cancelled it but hey i can phone up again once ive got this third order secured. The bastards charge before they ship in the UK it seems, so im like -1200 quid until i get my two refunds.

Yeah i really really hope the chick on the phone got the point across that i want them to use the cash they've already taken from me, and not charge my account again. If they do my overdraft will be maxed and ill get a bank charge, and dell will get an angry phone call  But i think she got the message so it should all work out.
