I called dell a couple weeks ago and they said you can only order a vostro series if you are a small business owner. Is that true? They said your order would be canceled if you aren't a small business owner.

That is not true. Anyone can order from SB. Just order it online and when they ask you for the company name, just type your name in there.

Yep in Australia a Vostro can be ordered by anyone.

A Dell rep even recommended that I (a student) should get a Vostro instead of an Inspiron. The website doesn't even ask for a company name from memory. Not sure what happens in other countries, though.

In the UK you can check through a bunch of e-value codes. The best currently appears to be N0717002. Although that might change in the next few days.

you can order it over the phone. they will ask you some really basic questions like what are you going to use it for and what kind of business you run. you just give them random answer like i own a pizza store called "your last name + pizza". they usually dont ask a lot because they want the sell.

I ordered over the phone. Used my name as the company name as per the sales rep's advice. I also used small business financing to order and will pay it all of as soon as I get my student loan refund check.
