waiting...

Hello, I'm bored and waiting for my e1705. I checked the UPS tracking site today and it was in Sparks, Nevada at 5 or so this evening. That's only like a hundred miles away from here. Do you think I will see it by tomorrow? It was funny, today I saw a UPS truck drive down the street and I got all excited untill I saw it stop at the house accross the street. I looked like a kid who wakes up to find the Christmas tree burned down. Ok, thats a really sad analogy, and it wasnt nearly that bad, I guess I just shouldent have gotten my hopes up. Has anyone experienced this phenomenon? It's so lame though because it's a bunch of plastic and metal, and I spend so much time thinking about it. Maybe when I get it, instead of unpacking it, I'll go camp out in the wilderness for a day. I need to get a job, now that I'm out of school. Working is so much better than having school hanging over my head. When I had dropped out it was great, untill I realized that it would be alot easier if I wasnt stuck working fast food for the rest of my life. I feel bad though because there are people in third world countries who have barely anything and we live in luxury. I feel like such a materialistic bastard. Anyways I guess when it arrives I'll make a post after I get it all set up, even though I'll probably be like the hundredth person to do so. In the mean time I'm gonna plan on how I can help the world without taking it over. I aint no pinko commie.

 

Third world country here. Yes, you're a *******! Hahaha, j/k. True, things aren't great here but some of us are lucky enough, I guess. Don't worry about your laptop, it will arrive either later today or tomorrow morning. My e1505 is at "In Transit to Local Carrier" on dells tracking site, how long does that take?

 

It means it is going to the UPS/Fedex location. Usually takes 1 business day. Then add that to whichever delivery option that you chose.

 

yee-ah, i just checked the tracking status and it left for delivery at 6:30 am. from a town a fifteen minutes away. they probably have a lot of stops though. but indeed it should be arriving soon. i will post after i get the wireless network set up and crystal xp, maxthon, ect installed. i'll be using avg for now as norton hasnt arrived yet, and Oblivion isnt here yet either but I still haven't got past the coastal driving levels in HL2 so I should be good to go. I think everyone pretty much already knows how this notebook preforms but I'll be posting about that as well. sweet.

UPS is bollocks. it's 5:20 and i'm still waiting. will it show up before 7? is my waiting in vain? if it doesent show tonight i'll call em and set it up for pickup tomorrow. i wont mind driving 30 minutes compared to waiting all day. tick... tock... tick.... tock... mebbe i'll pick up some head and shoulders while im out. i can make it snow if i rub my hair really fast.

I got the tracking number this morning, and then I find out later todya UPS rescheduled my delivery date from tomorrow to thursday

this laptop rocks. the 1920x1200 screen is great if you turn the dpi up to 120. I'm installing HL2 right now, cant wait to start playing. updates are gonna take forever though.

at first, the screen was too much for me and i was thinking about sending it back. my eyes started hurting when i had been on it for about a half an hour, but it seems fine to me now. The small print isnt really that hard to read after a while. anyways i'm gonna post in one of the other sections after i've run HL2. if you want to read it search for "e1705 impressions" after 12 noon pacific time, which is three hours behind eastern standard time, on wednesday the 24th. or maybe even later tonight if it updates fast enough.
