I got my dell 1720 with a one year warranty. I just got an offer in the mail to purchase an additional 3-years on top of the one year for $229 plus 75 dell dollars. Is this a good deal?

no not really. warranty stuff like this is something you want to call in and talk to a rep about cause a lot of times, they can lower the prices for you over the phone. also, when it gets time for your warranty to actually expire, they send another notice asking you to extend.
