Oops - Lost the first "T" in the title. Meant "Tweaking" not "weaking".

I just received my Studio 17 and was surprised to hear that the sound was really as bad as many users claimed. However, you can tweak the sound settings and it gets much better (less tinny). If you haven't done this, you might want to try.

Open Control Panel > Sound> Double click Speakers/Headphones> Open Enhancements> Enable both Bass Boost and Virtual Surround.......much better.

Will try that later....although there is a limit to what a software tweak can do to enhance what is essentially a street side 5 $ speaker set fitted in...the **** thing starts to physically chatter at volumes that are even slightly higher !!!

Yeah I gave up on mine as soon as I heard it the first time. I own a pair of Bose noise canceling headphones (amazing and totally worth the $300 price!) so I just use those instead. Along with a Creative XMOD, it's like a whole different world...
