Hi everyone, hope sombody can help me with this. The system battery of my Inspiron 1420 was at 5%, and the red light was flashing. So I plug the AC adapter and continue working. After half an hour I notice the light was still flashing. So the battery is not charging, the system doesn’t recognize the computer as plug, but I can work anyway, so the AC adapter is not the problem. I try to turn on the computer without the battery, just plug, but doesn’t work. One final thing, although the battery is still at 5%, it says it would last for 151 hours!!! Any idea what is all this about? Thanks

That must be one uber battery. It sounds to me like there may be a short somewhere. And since you said that the computer wouldn't turn on with just the AC adaptor plugged in, it could also be the power jack on the computer itself. That is just my guess though. I wouldn't run with that since I'm not the best at troubleshooting stuff like that.
