im so torn between the 1500 and 1700 still.. i am just worried the 1500 will be sooo much bigger.. they dont look that much bigger in the store though imo

Go to Best Buy/Circuit City, whatever, and look at laptop screens to determine what resolution you want. It's the best way to decide. But if you were planning on a WXGA for the Vostro 1500, then the WXGA+ for the 1720 would be comparable.

IMO higher resolutions are better, but only if you can see them :)

well I had a 17" notebook for about a week with the resolution and I really liked it a lot.

I've had a 15.4" screen for 3 years and I wanted something bigger.

im only being concerned with overall picture quality at this point..is the wxga+ or the wuxga going to look the best are either going to suffer from grainy picture compared to the other etc what about viewing angles?? id love to save the 150$ but if the wuxga will look much better i dont mind spending it

price point they were willing to give me on it.. otherwise i would not have

im still unsure of going with the 1700 though.. i carry it to work everyday and man i just dont know if i want to lug it around but i really like the bigger screen that would be the ONLY REASON FOR ME to get the 1700 over the 1500 one..

Go for it and I personally like it with the WXGA+ because I think everything looks too small otherwise and def Anti-Glare
