Really wondering how everyone ordered it up!
iv got a 9 cell commin..but im thinkin about switchin to to a 6 or even a 6 + 9 if possible
-
6, I'm rarely using my laptop away from home for more than a couple hours (class). So a 6-cell is perfect especially since it sits flush.
-
6cell for me. I just dont need the extra juice at the expense of aesthetics with the 9cell.
-
4+9 Cell...sounded intriguing to me so I did it haha
-
6 cell for me as well... Not too small and not too big
-
I ordered the 6 Cell also. It's flushed with the notebook and it has better battery life than the 4 cell.
-
I thought the main reason the 4-cell exists is so that Dell can boast about the weight...
"weighs from..."
I don't see it as being a great deal of use. -
9 cell but I am thinking about calling and trying to get a 6 cell also
-
9 and 9, i'll compromise weight/looks for battery life def
-
I voted even though I bought a 1520

I personally think the best combo is 6 + 9... gives you the option to keep the laptop at its tiniest (with the 6) and the option to have a big chunk of extra juice if you want to carry the extra battery on a flight for example...
I opted for the 6 alone, since everywhere you go nowadays, you can plug in... only thing is I wish they had smaller AC adaptors... is there any way to get a tiny version of the AC adaptor? I heard it weighs half a pound alone.. -
4 + 9.
Aug 22nd I will know if that was a good choice... -
Yeah, I got the 4 cell and 9 cell as well, also slated for August 22nd.
I tried to get a 6 cell and a 9 cell, but the rep couldn't do it for me. -
4... will buy a larger cell in the near future.

-
yep 6 cell over here
-
9 + 9
I'm not at home from 10 to 10 so I need as much battery life as possible. Besides, it looks cool propped up like that. -
I went for a 6 + 9 cell for my last notebook. Big mistake for a number of reasons, the main one being that I only ended up using the 9-cell a few times a year, whenever I was going to take a long plane trip (and half of the time I didn't even use my computer on the plane).
However, li-ion batteries lose their full-charge capacity just sitting around (to the tune of about 10-15% per year) so if you're not using it, you're wasting money. By the time my 6-cell ran out of juice, about 2 years later, my 9-cell only held about 75% of its full charge. I should have just gone with one 6-cell, and purchased a new 6-cell at the time the first one died. -
Ordered a 9cell and got a free 9 (i wanted a 6, but they gave it for free).
-
I ordered a 6 cell, then tried calling to add a 9 cell to it. The guy said you can only order the 9 cell as part of the whole notebook package(which means as of the now you can't get extra batteries by themselves). So the only way to get that 9 cell was for him to redo my order which would probably make my shipping date next year so 6 cell it is
-
6 cell for me. Just couldn't stand how the M1330 looked w/ the 9 cell (forget ergonomics, I'm all about aesthetics
)
-
Yeah... I'm a bit shallow, but hey, one of the big reasons for getting the M1330 was aesthetics.
-
I configured and ordered mine with the 6 cell. On the configuration website it stated ordering a 9-cell would delay shipment. I then called a Dell sales manager that I chatted with numerous times about my order and previous problems and he was very helpful in making sure I got what I wanted.
So I ordered 2 of the 9-cell batteries on a seperate order. That way it does not interfere with the production or delivery time of my notebook, and I get them later when my usage becomes more intense and this becomes my primary laptop as I transition from my old one.
I ordered the 6-cell for asthetics, and for the extra power over the 4-cell. I dont mind the extra weight. Im used to carrying around a 9lb 15" laptop right now. My intention is a smaller portable unit with enough power necessary to last all day. I work in real estate and commercial development which puts me on the road during the day and at construction sites, unfinished buildings and homes with no electrical outlets or power sources. So being able to review plans, budgets, deadlines, etc with my crews and clients is essential on my laptop. I have to be able to power up and stay powered up to review things with as many people as necessary to get a job done.
When Im in the office or at a place where I can plug it, the 6-cell will be my primary. I will carry the 2 spare 9-cells in the field for when I need them. -

Yes it was $120 for each 9-cell. First I talked to a order rep, quoted me $79 and referred me to the wrong battery. Knowing he was wrong I told him to order 2 for me and document I was ordering them specifically for the XPS M1330 system. He wasnt sure why, but complied.
I then transferred to a manager I was put in contact with because of previous order problems and asked him to confirm the battery purchase and how I wanted the order set up. The manager immediately caught the problem and told me the rep ordered the wrong batteries for my system, the cost for the correct ones was $150 each. Of course I snapped back how the correct item was double the price I was originally quoted. Knowing my personality and from previously working with me the manager quickly did some discounting and got me to $99 each battery with overnight shipping when they arrive back in stock. Its just a matter of talking to the right people and having a background of ordering alot of business systems from them at once. I usually dont take advantage, but sometimes its necessary.
what battery(s) did you order for your m1330?
