my female friend wants a laptop and im wondering what you guys could offer?

    Budget: 800-1500 dollars.

screen size : 15.4 inch or smaller.

    Other criteria:

she wants a Stylish laptop but also something that would be decent power wise. Nothing crazy, no gaming. I mean girls are girls, she just wants a working computer that has somewhat style and can do most tasks like photoshop and other design programs.

She doesnt want an apple though so thats out. She also doesnt want a dell. So any other brands please.

    Thanks

I would go with the HP Pavilion dv6700t Special Edition, Sony Vaio FZ, and ASUS F3SA-S2..all powerful and stylish laptops.

Best buy sells a HP dv6700t special edition.. clay color lid. IMO this is the best looking HP yet and its nicely loaded system. I like to configure my systems online but if I bought today, I probably go for the one sold at bestbuy.. I don't believe you can buy this model directly from HP. http://www.notebookreview.com/default.asp?newsID=4210

Also Nizzy and GaMeRxD.. I guess you did not read what the OP said.. they don't want Apple or dell. Probably this question should be asked on the what notebook I should buy forum instead of the dell forum.

HP would be a nice choice...however..the bad thing about HP is you cannot customize the specs. Most computers can run photoshop quite well..since its a processor based app..

get the 1530 from dell outlet. I did and I got a sick deal.

    T7500, 3GB, 160GB Fall sensor, Wireless N, 8600GT, 1050 res screen + BLU RAY! All for 1250.

Laptop came to me without a scratch. Immaculate condition. I honestly do not know why a lot more people don't buy form the outlet, especially wth their free shipping and 15% off coupons (one of which is going on right now!).

oh..didn't realize no dell....if that's true, then get a dv6700t, not a bad laptop for women - configured properly they are very cheap +/- 800 with HP crazy dicounts.

You can get all that Brand New with the 30% off coupon from Dell as well.

Actually, you might want to check out the D630 or D830...both are sturdy notebooks, much better in quality that the standard 'consumer' Dell notebooks.

Am I the only one who fails to comprehend why the OP would post in the Dell forum if he doesn't want a Dell?

He likes Dell himself and the people in the Dell forum, perhaps? And wanted their advice?
