One member of the NF Forum told me to look at the "Dell Inspiron 1501"

    because is have the

ATi Radeon Xpress1150 256MB Hyper memory "Integrated"

    Now my question

This is my list " will this play good games "
    Dell Inspiron 1501

    AMD Turion 64 X2
    Window XP Home
15.4 Wide Screen XGA Display With Truelife
    1Gig DDR2 SDRAM at 533Mhz
    120GB 5400rpm sata HD
    8X CD/DVD Burner Ati Radon Xpress1150 256MB Hyper memory

    for $964

i want to compare to that to say the

    Dell Inspiron E1705

Can i get a good gaming system with out spending $$$$$

and also if i like what i read threw this forum " for the tech support do they still offer it in india " because that is my sticking point " because i want to speak to someone who can speak clear English

No...unless the games are a few years old the integrated graphics will choke. Look at the e1505 w/ X1400 for a good starting point for recent games.

For the right price, you can configure the E1705 with the nVidia 7900GS graphics card...which is immensely more powerful than the 1501's GPU. At least 8-10 times stronger (and I'm not joking either) than the integrated card and about 4 times stronger than the X1400.

the 1501 is nothing compared to the1705 gaming wise

the 1705 has a core duo which trounces the turion though both cpus are pretty powerful already for normal work.

the 7900gs, will be many more times better then the 1150 gaming wise in real life performances.

a 1150 might get for example 1-5 fps in oblivion with aa, all high and distance maxed. a 7900gs could do the same no problem and maintain a 30+ fps

if you want to play any modern game, a dedicated graphics card is highly recommended and a x1400 or 7400 or above too.

its very hard to get a decent gaming rig for below $1000

With those games you’re going to want to go with a relatively high end GPU. The X1400 will play those games on low settings. But the 7900GS is a GPU in a totally different ball park. It's really quite high end GPU. If you have the money, go with the E1705 with the 7900GS. 2GB's of RAM will also help for games like BF2.

If portability is not an issue then 1705 is the one for you. It gives great graphics performance at a good price. However if you want to carry your notebook a lot then I wouldn’t recommend a 17”. Better get a 15 with either an X1600 or GF 7600 both of which are close to twice as fast as an X1400. Unfortunately DELL doesn’t have anything faster than an X1400 in smaller notebooks, you will have to go with another brand like Asus, Acer etc... However as others have already mentioned X1400 is also a decent card but I wouldn’t exactly call it a gaming card.

Like PheonixFx mentioned if 17" is too big for you, then you will want to go with another more powerful 15.4". Such as the Compal HEL80, Asus S96j, and the Asus G1.

I don’t know about how much support you can get for Asus and Compal in India if that is what you are asking. However there are number good resellers giving reliable support for those brands in US. Asus and Compal manufactures really good quality products (actually they are the real manufacturers who provide most of the notebooks sold by DELL, IBM and other reputed PC Vendors).

But when it comes to after sales support in India, I really don't know.
