i have calibrated the battery of dell 4110 inspiron and it reached again 100% that is 0 % wear level but one day suddenly it went to hibernation and wear level reached to 8 % , so my question is to expert that why this ups and down in the wear level? if i had kept that 100% for long time without re calibrating then would my battery remain 100 percent ? or what ever the software show the internal wearing keep on going? please help

Commander Wolf can i haz broadwell?
It is normal for batteries to lose capacity over time, even if you never use it. The wear level just indicates how much capacity the battery can still hold. At 8% wear your battery can hold 92% of the original capacity: if you were getting 100 minutes of runtime, you should now get 92 minutes. Whether you calibrate the battery or not will not affect the wear level: you can have a battery that has a nominal 0% wear, but it will crap out when Windows says 50% because the actual wear level is 50%, etc.

thank you for the response . now one query...few monts ago the wear level of my battery was 7% but one day it went to hibernate lack of charge and i recharged it and checked the wear level then it was 0%. now my question is . is my being better or its real wearing is still 7% and virtually shown zero percent? and after few days due to lack of charge it went to 8% wear level so what is this , it means once the battery gets weraing level then it is remained for forever eventhough it shows less wearing level after caliberation? help to be clear
what does wear level of battry shows?
