What are you going to do when you see that UPS truck pull up by your house?

I think I'm gonna rape him. But with lots of love! And then of course, ravage the box. :D

    OH the agonizing wait!!

LMAO... that is okay... I didn't make it home in time when my (well, more like my wifes) 1505 came. She was so mad at me. She was giddy all evening until we could pick it up from the office. In fact, she couldn't wait for us to get home before she opened the box and pulled it out.

I'm planning on doing the same thing!!!! Except for the method you chose to get your package lol. I'm planning on just signing for the thing...

Then I will get to open the box, yes!! That really is the best part.

Question- WHen you get a new laptop, do you have to leave it plugged in, off, for 12 hours like when you get a new ipod?

If yes that could put a serious kink in my "box just arrived" plans. :)

I didn't even have to sign for the box, which is great because I wasn't home (Fedex).

And the battery was charged when I got it (D630).

You'll probably have to leave it plugged in until it is fully charged but that doesn't mean you can't play with it on AC power :)

I will run around the room with my hands in the air screaming WEEEEEEEEEE. Then I will open the box take out the notebook, try to open the lid and accidentally snap the screen off, which will be immediately followed by curses to the evil dell gods.

Dell is taunting me!!! I ordered my M1330 with the Slim Power Adapter because I didn't want to be carrying around that giant brick. Today the adapter arrived (I guess they just ship whatever they have). Now I have a power adapter without a laptop. :(

I just got a random call from Dell for the "follow up". I hardly remember what the guy said as he had a thick accent and I was half awake, but something about expediting my order and taking off the shipping charge. Weird.

Ok, sure, whatever. If I do get my laptop soon, which I doubt I will, I'll take pics of me kissing my lappie.

Since I spend 32-40 hours a week working. I will probably miss it the first time it is delivered and the second time it is delivered. I will probably have to pick it up at the warehouse.

I remember when my first Dell laptop was delivered. My friend who lives just a few houses down was expecting his Dell laptop the same day. Well he just missed the UPS guy by a few minutes when he found a note it would be redelivered the following day, While we were standing there talking, I said hey I see him stopping now making another delivery of some sort and this guy who missed the UPS guy (I would have done the same thing) took off chasing on foot and caught up with him at the traffic light and got his laptop.

I can't believe nobody's said this, first thing I'm going to do is remove all the GARBAGE software/bloatware they have on it.

Dell Latitudes do not have bloatware. :)

EDIT: Well they have Internet Explorer, Outlook and some bloatware, but not much.

When I get the 1520, I am going to immediately snatch it from from the UPS guy, take it inside, open the box, set it up, set up my user account, then install Rainbow Six Vegas.

I will remove bloatware and add Anti Virus later...and all that good shizz :D

    When I get mine...

Well the delivery guy will probably walk slow to the door, so I'm just going to murder him and bury him under the porch.

Then, I'm going to snatch the laptop, scream like the guy that got a nintendo on youtube, and use it for a few days/submit a review :)

First I'm going to pray in hoping there aren't any damaged boxes/products, or the laptop doesn't have dead pixels.

My XPS M1710 is on its way! July 9th! 3 boxes of goodies!

    Cant wait!

One of the few things im worried about is dead pixels, sound crackle, bloatware, what picture to have on the front, bloatware, lastly what to call it rather than computer3!

Sure hope none of that is a problem for me!

    You wouldn't believe this story...
When Dell started sales operations in India a few years ago, me and 2 friens ordered three laptops together
The delivery address we gave was our office address
When the delivery truck finally came, all 3 of us ran out to pick it

Now the packages (all 3 of them) had a a big sticker that said "please verify contents before signing for receipt"
The delivery guy however refused to let us do that, i.e. he insisted we sign the delivery receipt first and do whatever we wanted with the package next

So I called up the dell # from my cell and asked the rep what to do...
The rep got all confused and transferred the call from one number to another

Eventually, the final guy told us to sign the package, take the delivery but leave the seal intact...he said dell would send a sevice engnr the next to open the package who could also subsequently verify the content.... ( we knew it was BS)
there was no way we would have waited another day with boxes with us

Anyway, we signed the package, tore open the boxes right then & there to take out the spanking new machines :)

Thankfully, their operations have stabilized now and had a much better delivery experience with the new XPS1210 I ordered last year :)

I am still torn in the dilemma of whether to sell off my 1210 for a 1330 or not....but can't bear the thought of waiting for those long weeks to get the delivery

I think I will be sitting at work in blissful ignorance while my 9yr old son rips open the packaging of the M1330 and tries to figure out how to install wow on it.

When I get home I won't be surprised if it isn't broken!
