    hi

would any 2.5" solid state hard drive work in there or does it have to be some different voltage or something?

    SATA or IDE?

If you are talking about the Mini 9, a 2.5" drive of any kind will not fit. It uses a Mini PCI-E Solid State Drive. Looks like this:

very small, not many vendors making these, and unfortunately from what I have seen, the aftermarket ones available are not very fast.

You'd probably want to look for the Intel ones they seem to be the best right now. Though Samsung should be releasing some soon that will be much better and have up to 32GB.

    Resurrection!!

I have a Mini 9 with a PATA 8GB flash drive. I was looking at OCZ latest MiniPCI Express SSDs and note that the SATA version has faster Read/Writes. Can I install the SATA drive in my MiniPCI Express slot?

I don't understand...the laptop interface is MiniPCI Express but the drive is still SATA or PATA?

    Any help much appreciated.

It's taking me 6 Hours to re-image this drive!!
