    sorry for the newbie question but i don't know what native resolution is? i'm looking at the inspiron e1505/6400 and the options for me are WXGA (1280 x 800) and WSXGA (1680x1050), are these native resolutions? and if so what is native resolution? :confused:

    native resolution is the number of pixels actually in the screen. Those resolutions you're seeing when you configure the notebook are native resolutions.

    i have a 17' tft on my desktop which has a maximum resolution of 1280x1024, is this the native resolution?

    the native resolution is also the resolution at which the screen looks "best at" trying to run a resolution on an lcd lower than its native resolution make the screen seem blurry, fonts may be harder to read.
