hello everyone, wonder if anyone know wat is the best deal for 700m. i've only paid attention to coupon since lastweek. i thought $800 off for $1999 is a good deal but when i checked out the price, it was a bit higher than lastweek 35%, which i missed. i also noticed the price during configuration is different from the price during the check out not included coupon.. i dont understnd how they do the discount.

anyone know what is the best deal and when ? thanks in advance

Hi, I just bought a maxed out 700m for 1,320 USD. It is an excellent machine by the way.

Anyways, I paid 1,320 bucks for it after a $800 dollar off coupon from Dell. In the set of new coupon codes, they have the $800 dollar off coupon again.

Good luck on your purchase. [ :)]

Well the $600 off 1600 is what I used a couple of months ago, with that you can get a decent 700M for a grand flat. I just priced out my config now & it's like $24 cheaper, bringing it to $1601 - coupon, can't get much closer than that. I paid a total of $1025.00 shipped.

So for $1001.00 you can get same config I have which is

    P4 1.8M, 512 RAM(2 DIMM), 60 GB HDD, 24 cd/dvd combo drive & Intel 2200 B/G wireless.

That's a pretty solid setup for a grand.

I also used the $800 off $1999 coupon yesterday and got a sweet deal (at least I think so!)

    P4 2.0M, 1GB RAM(2 DIMM), 80 GB HDD, DVD Burner & Intel 2200 B/G wireless = $1257

It comes out to about 39% off; about $80 LESS than if I used the 35% coupon.

I was considering the HP (DV1000) for a while, but wanted a faster CPU and Dual Layer Burner; Then I started to look at the Sony S Series but aside from the price was really dissapointed in the fact I couldn't replace the hard drive easily (in case I ever wanted to). While I don't think the Dell is 100% perfect - compared to what else is out there and at this price I couldn't have gotten a better deal.

(I will say, one of the reasons I didn't consider it from the start was because of the silly location of the firewire port - Why right smack in the front, center of the unit! I'm very shallow when it comes to looks and that just seems like an odd place for that port when the others are all on the side.. Seems like it should have been next to the USB port somewhere... but thats just me - I'll get over it.)

    A little off topic - I apologize...
Now I just need to wait for it to get here!! UGH
