just now i was benchmarking my 4570 with some software... then in the GPUZ the gpu temperature was showing from 65.C to 100.C within a few minutes... freaked out.. ii just closed the software.. and am worried if this was normal and what would be the safe operating temperature of a graphic card for notebook... and my fans are rolling at full speeds @100.C...

It should never go above 90c , if the air vents are clear you need to give dell a ring and get it repaired or replaced.

My 1747's ATI4650 never got higher than 76.C
Even my Desktop with 2 4870x2s, I've never had GPU's run higher than 89.C (That's running L4D or Crysis maxxed @1920x1200)

mine also studio 1555, but my laptop is installed with p8600 cpu
idle around 50C, will rise to 90+C if run furmark
abit sad to say that, it is normal for this laptop, i have tried with my frens' studio 15 :(
the gpu speed will slow down if exceed 100C to prevent hardware failure
