Is there a list of programs that Dell installs onto your notebook and what they are for? Just trying to figure out which programs to uninstall and keep.

your best bet is to reformat, do a clean windows install, then put on the applications that will be useful to you

I would but I've already configured the pc the way I would like it so it would really be too much of a hassle to reformat it right now

You'll have to go threw the list and see what you will use and what you wont use, We cant really answer that question because everyone will want something different.
Reformating is the best option, but if you're like me and don't feel to confident in your ability to do it then just leave it alone. Or perhaps you could find someone who does know what they're doing and have them reformat it for you.

But when you reinstall it automatically reinstalls all the crap... (at least it does on mine).

recovery/restore and a clean install are two different things, if you use the recovey option your setting your machine back to exactly the same way it was when you first booted it up bloatware and all, a format and clean install with a windows dis (not a restore disc) erases everything on the drive, and you wind up with a fresh clean copy of windows, MCE installs espn motion, but thats easily removed

Check out that PC Decrapifier link. It actually works. Needless to say though, a format would be the ideal option. But I too was lazy and just used that PC Decrapifier, which uninstalls useless things that Dell (and other PC manufacturers) install onto their machines.

Well I have formatted my laptop before, but when I reinstall with the disk that Dell gives me (the windows one for formatting and reinstalling windows), it automatically reinstalls the 'bloatware'. I don't want to buy a new windows... so what can I do?
