    as long as your laptop is functioning properly, you don't HAVE to do any tests. if you read some of the reviews for laptops, you will see some of the commonly used tests. superpi, 3dmark, hdtune, etc. here is an example:

    See if it powers on. Then see if you like it. Benchmarking only serves to let you hate your computer because you won't the the "score" you want.
