    what to do about scratches?

    I just got a new dell xps midnight blue. Everything works fine but I noticed there's some white scratches on my the midnight blue cover. Anybody know what to do about this? Can i ask dell to repaint it or something or are there any home methods?

    Maybe you can get them to send you a new back panel and you could install it yourself. Or you could spray paint that back piece of plastic...take it off the system first if possible.

    My Inspiron had a lot of wear on the back cover. The first time it was ridiculous, and I didn't do anything to cause it. I called Dell, made a stink, and they sent me a new one (as well as rubber bumpers - had to ask for those though). I sent the old one back, worked out great.

    Just takes some convincing it the machine isn't too old.

    My replacement came with a dented palm rest.
