I got into this annoying problem so I need some suggestions from your experience: I ordered a laptop 2 weeks ago and one has arrived yesterday but with wrong components which are:
    Processor: T7200 -> T2050
Video card: ATI X1400 -> Intel

I am not sure whether there are any other wrong components!!
What should I do now??? I will contact Dell tomorrow but while wating for the right laptop arriving, can I use the wrong one or I have to return it first??? And if yes, how much can I use it, normally or restrictedly???

Btw, do anyone know how to check the rest of the components:
    WXSG+
Integrated Sound Blaster® Audigy™ HD Software Edition (and what is this one? How much does it affect my audio quality? Is it just a software or hardward?)
Intel PRO/Wireless 3945 Internal Wireless (what does it have that is better than the Dell Wireless 1390 802.11g Mini Card?))

Any helps are great!!! Thanks in advance!!

Double check your packing slip and complain to them for the right notebook and the compensation. YOu can use it until they give you the correct one

    Thanks for The quick answer.
However, where can i find this packing slip??? (sorry, I'm a noob)
Moreover, about the HD audio thing, is it a software which just requires an installation or it comes with a card??
And what better does the intel pro wireless card have over the dell one??

it should be on the side of the box and the HD audio is software. Intel has a better range in my opinion

I would demand at the very least a replacement notebook with the specs you ordered (you can print out your order off your account at Dell.com). I would maybe ask for some sort of extra compensation if you really have to go out of your way to get your replacement as well.

And the HD Audigy is software to my knowledge.

i don't understand the point of this thread.

if you got the wrong notebook, you notify dell so they can set up a return and get you correct one.

why are you asking for advice?

Agreed, I don't understand what the problem is. You got the wrong laptop, let Dell know and they will fix it. Am I totally missing something??

    My main questions are:
1st: can i use the wrong laptop normally while waiting for the right one arrive or do i have to return it first?
2nd: I would like to ask about the Integrated Sound Blaster® Audigy™ HD Software Edition. Is it just an application or a driver for a sound card?
3rd: how can I check all the components to make sure everything right???
    Thank you all for responding!!

    1. Yes you can use it but beware that you must delete any personal data or documents you put on it.
    2. It is an application
    3. Check the device manager or download Belarc

Guys, I have been having no help from Dell to solve their own troubles.

At the first time call them, I was told to contact this Joshee guy who had helped me to make the order at the first place. However, the whole story is about this Joshee. It's extremely hard to get him on the phone 'cause his line is always busy and about 5 times I caught him (for over 1 week of calling), he said he would ask his manager and call me back right the way but he never has. Moreover, he also said he would make a new order and send me an email with the specs but he never has (to make sure he got the right email address, we confirmed three times in that call). In the last time, he said :"sir, please wait, I will go to ask my manager about the situation." Men, this is my fifth call and now he started to tell his manager about this. then, 5 minutes later, he came back to the phone (i was holding it) and announced that his boss is busy and he would give me a call the next day and even send me an email to tell me the solution. And f***, he didn't. today is two days since that day already and I am still trying to call him but the line always is busy. everyday I left 1 massage and now his massage box is full.
Guys, I'm really pissed off and just want to return it but do not know how.

Please give me some advices!!! (I did try to contact his manager many times but all the operators did were after 1 minute me holding on the phone, they gave me back to this f***ing busy Joshee!)

Immediately call dell and demand a new notebook. Any representative can reorder you a notebook, not this stupid josh guy. This is completely ridiculous and you should not stand for it. Ask to speak to a manager and talk to someone who knows whats going on. However, this could be a good thing because now you can request a more hefty gift card. Do not accept anythin below $200. If they say no to that say you will cancel your order if they dont. Get as much money as possible!

BTW, do not ever fall for "I will call you tommorow." They never do so say you want a new order right now, not tommorow. Also sound really upset, if you dont sound pissed they wont give you alot of gift card money.

Sound upset? At this point I would think he has a legitimate reason to be upset. If you don't want a gift card, see if they'll knock down the price on whatever you do wind up with.

tell them if the new correct laptop isn't ordered by the end of this call, you'll dispute the charge with your CC and Dell will have to deal with getting the wrong laptop back on your terms!
