Ok after have some problems with my current screen on my 9300, im going to try and return it to Dell on monday morning (with no restocking free). I built 2 computers on their website, and with cupons they come out about the same price (+/- $20). One has the 80 gig 7200 rpm HDD and the 2915 wireless card with BT, the other has the 60 gig 7200 HDD and the 2200 wireless card with BT AND the 3 year warrentee with at home service weekend, etc..
whats the better deal? Should i get the bigger hdd and slightly better wireless card (which im sure ill never notice the difference) OR should i get the one with the great warentee?

Well it all depends:
Are you going to be saying lots of photos, movies, etc? If so, the 80 Gig. The difference betweeen the 80 and 60 is not a big difference. If you dont have a lot of stuff that needs to be saved, 60gb is the better deal. Since the upgrade to the 2915 card is not much, you shoould get that card. The 2200 in my mind is nothing but issues. And if you ever decide to get an A router, your card will work with it.

I've heard people really like the 2915 (strong signal, no problems), so when I was ordering a couple of days ago and it was a $25 upgrade, I gladly paid it.
And the warranty does seem more valuable than the 20GB to me. -
If you store a lot of pictures or music, the extra 20 gigs will be helpful, but won't be enough anyway; you are much better off getting an external hard drive for that stuff and the extended 3 year warranty. Laptops are notorious for breaking down, and they are not user-friendly like desktops. It is not easy to simply swap out a card like you might in a desktop- you need to really know what you are doing and, even then, you cannot always just simply replace a single part. I would not buy an expensive laptop without an extended warranty, because the likelihood is you'll need it.

Well the external HD will be even more money yet at $150 plus. And the best place to use that is at a desk. What if he needs to be able to take this laptop away from his desk?
But yes, the warranty is really needed. -
Perhaps a USB external HD (30 GB), no bigger than a PalmPilot.

True, but its just another thing to worry about and if you forget it

Dell's Home Service is pretty good. You can always add extra storage throught the USB later if needed.

yea...i'd get the 4 year warrenty..and if u need more space...u can always get an external drive for less money
whats better? 3 year warrent or 20 more gigs?
