well i dont think an x1600 is pending in he ispiron line as of my knowlege is that the inpiron line maybe refreshed with the rolling out of the santa rosa and direct x10 cards the inspirons will sport maybe a card in the nvidia 8xxx category

    I don't think you'll find one.

There was talk of maybe an XPS M1410 about half a year ago, a 14.1" laptop with something like a Geforce 7600, but it seems like that hasn't happened, has it :p

The Inspiron lineup is bound to be upgraded with Santa Rosa coming, but I don't think Dell will put a better video card in the E1505 besides the X1400. The Inspirons already suffer from tons of heat buildup, and putting a more heat-intensive graphics card into that laptop just spells trouble.

I can 99% guess they will never go for it.
IMO is one of the reasons that DELL bought alienware.

I have a 6400. It would be pretty sweet to be able to upgrade from the x1400 to a x1600.

But, to me the x1400 is awesome. The video card in my desktop is an integrated nViDia TNT 16 MB. (or something like that). I couldn't watch even low quality vids without it skipping.

    I love the x1400!

Not all that bad for gaming either... if your expectations aren't too high.

I’d say never because X1600 is a performance level DX9 card; in few months a whole new range of DX 10 cards will come out. So why would anyone willing to pay a premium for a gaming notebook buy a DX9 card when DX10 cards are out?
