I may be answering my own question here. But my laptop has minor backlight bleed. I never notice it but would i notice it in cases such as watching dvd's on my laptop? I mean im rarely in a pitch dark room on all black website.

If you notice it while DVDs...then perhaps it is worth the hassle of getting a good one.
If it's just bleed from when you start up or whatnot, then it's fine. -
This might be silly question but what exactly is backlight bleed?
I am scheduled to receive my laptop today and I would like to know what I should watch out for. -
(just kidding, it's when the backlight shines through the screen too much) -
lol, layman's terms...
when you are on an all black background, like when windows is loading, you can see white light shining out from the sides of the screen...usually on the bottom..but can be from all 4 sides at it's worst... -
A lot of screens have backlight bleed. In MOST cases you can only see the bleed with an entirely black screen in a completely pitch black room.
Otherwise you won't notice it ever. I know I don't do a lot of black screen watching in pitch dark rooms. Leaking is only ever bad when it is apparent during regular use situations, otherwise it isn't really a problem at all.
when does backlight bleed come into play
