    hello and good afternoon
im not sure if this is the right section for this if it is not i am sorry please can you point me to the rigth section to post this

I have a New Dell Insprion 17r with windows 7 home edition

If i have the laptop lid open and connect to the HDMI the screen view on the HDMI is nice good size to see letters words graphics everything icons all nice size

if i close the lid to the laptop everything gets smaller tv blinks i guess because the hdmi setting is being reset when lid gets closed and when it comes back up the view on the icons letters windows everything is smaller

Is there a trick to keeping this from happening ?

Does your model have the ATI graphic card or intel integrated graphics?

Thumper_pup have you updated the driver for the integrated graphics? I just looked on their site and I can not even find a list of drivers. There may be an update in intel's site though. Also what is your setting in your power plan for lid close action?

Do you know what the max resoluton is on the TV vrs. the laptop. It sounds like the TV may be full hd (1920 x 1080) and the laptop is not ???

yeah the laptop is not and my40 in sony is full HD
i noticed what is happning is
if i hit the window key on the keyboard plus the P to open up the connect projector option
I click on Projector only it does not find the projector says no projector hooked up

I click on Duplicate and it shows on both the laptop and the tv but if i close the laptop lid
or if i switch the tv off and turn it back on it goes back to Laptop Only
and to make it larger again i have to pick DUplicate display again
any way to keep this from needing to be doen all the time ?
