when the video comes up, all the color is blue, green, purple, and distorted. I can see the outline of people but not that well. Anyone know why? Thanks

also, something I've realized. some pictures off galleries have strips of black running across them about 1/4 inch thick all the way through the picture. I'm on an omega driver on my ati x1400

I just don't see stuff like this.

    All video works well.

I use a lot of flash video, which is pretty easy on the computer, ie no video overlay. I use VLC for alost everything else, avi, .mpg, xvid, DVDs, etc.

    Rock solid on all fronts.

    E1505, X1400, Omega Drivers

I think I know what ur problem is, but would like you to help confirm it's the same problem I had before.

Are you able to get this "rainbow effect" on WMV files in your hard drive? I had the same problem with WMV files, both offline and website streaming ones. Other file types like AVI (Divx/Xvid) and MPG were okay.

If it's the exact same thing happening for you, then download the WMV9 codec updates... here are two links, both are same files, just in case one link doesn't work.

Are the black stripes also appearing when you watch DVDs on your notebook?

what a coincidence, I have the same colour distortion problems on my m1210

perhaps it's just a problem with WMP 11?

I don't think it's the player... when I had this problem, both Media Player Classic and WMP10 showed the rainbow effect. Apparently, just running the WMV9 codec install fixed it, so the problem was in the codec level.

i installed the codex, but the problem is still there. Only for certain videos though.
