    where to find remote seperately?

    I received a $50 coupon from Dell (as opposed to getting a free remote) so I figured I'd just use it to order the remote off the site. But I can't find the Dell Travel Remote ANYWHERE on the site, both Home and EPP/Student. It seems silly if it's only available if you purchase a notebook off the regular site, because it's not even available as an option on the student site.

    Anyone know where I can get one or find a link?

    I think the only one you can buy separately is the bluetooth one, it costs 60 dollars and sticks out of the express card slot by a ~ centimeter, and it drains your battery as long as it is in your express card slot.

    I've been banging my head against the wall on this remote issue as well. After countless hrs and dozens of people, it sounds like the only way to get an IR remote is to return your Inspiron and order a new one, choosing the IR remote option during the PC build selection process.

    UUuuuugh, just want the dang remote (even if I need to pay for it at this point) and while it ISN'T even physically connected to the laptop, there's just no way to get one????

    Dell shipped me a 30 dollar remote free of charge, and they wont let me ship it back for the 15 dollar one i wanted.

    What's the difference between the one they sent and the $15 one you (and I) wanted? Does it fit into the express card slot, does it work ok?

    the one i got (you can see a pic of it in one of critic's posts) is a full size remote, like for a tv or something.
