    when i first got this computer, there was a little pop up volume bar that would come up whenever you changed the volume. now, it just never comes up. i used to have the exact same problem on my gateway. anyways, anyone here know how to get it to work again?

    That's the Dell QuickSet utility. If you removed it from startup or uninstalled it, just re-start it at startup or reinstall it.
